Calum Goodwin
Head of Partnerships & Giving Development
What do you do at the charity?
As Head of Partnerships and Giving Development, I lead our dedicated fundraising team ensuring the charity’s corporate partners, donors, and amazing fundraisers feel connected to our campaigns, events and mission.
Why do you like working here?
I think it would be hard to find a more rewarding purpose in work than helping to establish partnerships that directly benefit our encephalitis community. I also like a challenge, we’ve done so much to raise awareness about encephalitis but there is still so much to do – and I hope you or your organisation would be keen to work with us to achieve this!
Tell us something about yourself
I am a sports enthusiast playing table tennis locally in Malton, 6-a-side football across in York, and braving an occasional weekend park run. In 2018 I ran the York Marathon raising money for MIND, and that year was awarded the University of York’s Sportsman of the Year. I’m a big Chesterfield FC fan occasionally taking their most loyal supporter, my 80 year old grandma, to a game.
What difference does Encephalitis International make in your opinion?
Above all, we are a vital support network for those suffering from Encephalitis ensuring those affected directly and indirectly have somewhere and someone to turn too. It is exciting to be a small part of the organisation’s commitment to raising awareness, influencing research and championing the stories of those affected by encephalitis.
