Call for bursary Encephalitis 2023 is now closed!

To encourage participation at the Conference, Encephalitis International is pleased to offer three bursaries towards the Conference costs to applicants from low and middle income countries.

Each bursary consists of:

Financial support to cover travel and subsistence (food, refreshments etc).

Free entry to the Conference.

3 x nights accommodation in London with breakfast.

Networking opportunities with Encephalitis International's Scientific Advisory Panel and all meals during the conference hours.

Criteria

Medical or health care professional of any level with an interest in encephalitis resident in a low-and-middle income country (LMIC). A LMIC country is any country that appears on this list

Professional member of Encephalitis International.

Membership is free and can be completed here

The bursary is intended for those who do not have full financial support from their hospital/institution or any other external sources.

Conditions

Winners are expected to attend the full day conference.

Winners are expected to obtain the appropriate visa to attend the Conference, at their own expense.

Winners will need to write a post for our blog or an article for our Connect Newsletter (500 words) about their experience at the Conference no later than 31st December 2023.

All successful applicants will be required to refund the full bursary, if they fail to attend the conference and take up the supported place.

Winners are expected to pay all other costs/expenses not covered by the Bursary.

How to apply

To submit your application for the bursary place, please email research@encephalitis.info with the title “Bursary Application” by 30th June 2023 including the following:

Title and full name.

Contact details including a mobile number that you will travel with.

Occupation/job title and place of work/educational Institution.

No more than 750 words saying what you would get out of attending the Encephalitis Conference,
how you would share what you have learnt with others in your home country and any other aspirations you have from attending.

The Bursary Diversity Form.

Signed letter of recommendation from your supervisor/line manager/tutor.
This letter must include a statement confirming that your host institution has risk assessed your planned travel and full consideration has been given to your health and safety.
