One week to go until World Encephalitis Day 2023

We are only ONE week away from World Encephalitis Day on Wednesday, 22nd February.

As we enter the final stretch, we are busy working around the clock to make this year’s awareness campaign as successful as possible.

We are very grateful to each and every one of you who has lit up a building, ordered a t-shirt or told us about your plans for the big day. Thank you!

So, how can you get involved and help us to raise awareness of encephalitis?

LIGHT UP A LANDMARK

We now have 181 landmarks in 28 countries that will be lighting up red on World Encephalitis Day.

There is still time if you want to approach a landmark in the town or city where you live to join our awareness campaign!

LANDMARK GATHERINGS

There are also special World Encephalitis Day gatherings which are starting to be planned by supporters. Our hope is that supporters will agree to be a point of contact for others at different venues.

GO #RED4WED

On World Encephalitis Day, we will be asking everyone to wear something red, share their photos on social media and talk about why it is important to know about encephalitis.

Our #Red4WED social media campaign is a fun, creative way for you to help raise awareness of encephalitis.

You can be as creative as you like when it comes to going #Red4WED! Maybe you own a nice red tie and pocket square suit combo? Or want to turn heads in a pair of red shoes? Maybe you are the proud owner of a red-coloured novelty hat which hasn’t seen light of day for several years? Or…. simply… you want to wear one of our official World Encephalitis Day t-shirts or a dress (or both!).

However you choose to do it.. the important thing is to tag us in on the relevant social media channel and use the relevant social media hashtags, #Red4WED, #WorldEncephalitisDay and #encephalitis
