COVID-19 Surveillance Programmes
Calling all physicians.
Two new initiatives need your help in collecting data which describe the neurological features of Covid-19 patients.
Both CoroNerve (for UK-based cases) and the Covid-19 Neuro Network (for international cases) are being led by researchers at the University of Liverpool, among other institutions and organisations.
The COVID-19 pandemic is an evolving emergency in which a significant proportion of the population are expected to be infected.
The experience of past pandemics, notably SARS, MERS and H1N1 suggests that neurological complications may occur.
Though the proportion may be small, given the large number of infections the collective burden may be large.
There is an urgent need for prospective, high-quality data collection to inform management and research.
If you are based in the UK:
Visit the CoroNerve website and Report a Case (reporting a case takes one minute).
If you are based outside of the UK:
Visit the Covid-19 Neuro Network web page and fill out the form to receive access to data collection resources.
